6 Likewise, David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 Blessed are those whose lawless acts are forgiven
and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the person
the Lord will never charge with sin.

“Imagine getting a letter from the government saying your criminal record, tax debt, and every traffic violation had been completely wiped clean. No court date. No conditions. Just: ‘You’re free to go.’ How would that feel?”
We all long for a fresh start — not just in life, but before God.

Book: What Does the Text Say?
Paul is proving that righteousness is by faith, not performance.
We are performance driven by nature.
It’s the way we believe we can gauge “success”
Paul uses David — someone who knew guilt — to show how God forgives.
David says:
“Blessed” — happy, favored, at peace, by DIVINE GRACE
Not because of what we do, but because of what God doesn’t do:
He doesn’t and will NEVER charge us with sin.
He covers our sin, by His blood and sacrifice
He forgives lawless acts.

Look: What Does It Mean for Us?
You CANNOT earn a clean record with God.
Trying to "clean yourself up" is like washing mud with more mud.
The good news: God credits righteousness to those who believe, BY HIS GRACE.
This isn’t about being religious — it’s about receiving grace.
The real blessing? Not having been PERFECT — but being PARDONED.

Trust what God has done — stop trying to earn what’s already a gift.
Confess and be honest like David — no need to hide from grace.
Rest in the finished work of Jesus — your sin won’t be charged to your account.
Celebrate and share this freedom — you’re living on grace, not guilt.
Closing Thought:
Closing Thought:
“If God isn’t counting your sin against you, why are you still counting it against yourself?”
